The Clue category of the Max Preferences window lets you set the colors for the Patcher window's Clue Window (whose functionality has largely been replaced by the Max Status Bar ).
Changing the Clue Window display colors
- Choose Preferences from the Max menu (Macintosh) or the Options menu (Windows) to show the Preferences Window. Scroll to the Browser category of the preferences listings, then click in the Values column for the either the Clue Window Text Color, Clue Window Background Color, or Clue Window Annotation Color settings and use the Color Picker to change the look of the Clue Window. The Max application keeps track of this setting, and it will be used whenever you launch the program.
