Max can help you distribute object evenly along a horitontal or vertical axis.
Distribute
- Select the objects you wish to distribute.
- Choose Horizontally from the Distribute submenu under the Arrange menu.
Distribute Handles
After you've invoked distribute, you can tune the object spacing with handles.
- Grab a handle and drag in the direction you wish to space the objects.
