The inlet object moves data from a parent patcher to a subpatcher. The outlet object moves data from a subpatcher to a parent patcher. Inlets corresponding to the internal inlet objects appear at the top of the patcher object in the parent patch, and corresponding outlets appear at the bottom of the patcher object.
Adding inlets and outlets to a subpatcher
- Command-double-click (Macintosh) or Alt-double-click (Windows) on the patcher object in an unlocked Patcher window. The patcher window for the subpatcher will be shown or brought to the front if it is already open.
- Double-click in a blank space in the subpatcher window to show the Object Explorer.
- Click on the icon for an inlet object. An inlet object will be added to your patch, and an inlet will appear on the patcher object in the main patch window.
- Double-click in a blank space in the subpatcher's window to show the Object Explorer.
- Click on the icon for an outlet object. An outlet object will be added to your patch, and an outlet will appear on the patcher object in the main patch window.
