Setting Audio preferences

The Audio category of the Max Preferences window shows the settings that allow you to interact with audio plug-ins that are installed on your computer.


Selecting a Plug-in Scanning option

  • Choose Preferences from the Max menu (Macintosh) or the Options menu (Windows) to show the Preferences Window and scroll to the Audio category of the preferences listings.
  • Scroll to the Audio category of the preferences listings, and select one of the options available in the Audio Plug-in Scanning setting:

    Minimal/Fast will register all plug-in files.

    Complete/Slow will verify plug-ins before registering them, and will iterate through shell plug-ins (such as the Expert Sleepers and Waves plug-ins).


Running a Plug-in Scan

  • Choose Preferences from the Max menu (Macintosh) or the Options menu (Windows) to show the Preferences Window and select the All tab to display the Audio preferences category.
  • Click on the 'scan' button to perform a complete audio plug-in scan.
