mc.combine~ Reference

Combine inputs into a multichannel signal

mc.combine~

Description

The mc.combine~ object combines inputs (signals, multichannel signals, floats) into one multichannel signal. Unlike mc.pack~, every channel of an input multichannel signal will be included in the output.

Examples

Arguments

number-of-inlets [int]

Optional

The first argument specifies the number of inlets. If no argument is present, the object will be created with two inlets.

Attributes

chans [int]

The chans attribute sets a fixed number of output channels. By default chans is 0, meaning the number of outputs is determined by the total channel count of signals connected to the inlets of mc.combine~.

Common Box Attributes

annotation [symbol]

Sets the text that will be displayed in the Clue window when the user moves the mouse over the object.

background [int] (default: 0)

Adds or removes the object from the patcher's background layer. background 1 adds the object to the background layer, background 0 removes it. Objects in the background layer are shown behind all objects in the default foreground layer.

Toggles whether an object ignores mouse clicks in a locked patcher.

jspainterfile [symbol]

JS Painter File

patching_rect [4 floats] (default: 0. 0. 100. 0.)

Sets the position and size of the object in the patcher window.

position [2 floats]

g/s(set)

Sets the object's x and y position in both patching and presentation modes (if the object belongs to its patcher's presentation), leaving its size unchanged.

presentation [int] (default: 0)

Sets whether an object belongs to the patcher's presentation.

presentation_rect [4 floats] (default: 0. 0. 0. 0.)

Sets the x and y position and width and height of the object in the patcher's presentation, leaving its patching position unchanged.

rect [4 floats]

g/s(set)

Sets the x and y position and width and height of the object in both patching and presentation modes (if the object belongs to its patcher's presentation).

size [2 floats]

g/s(set)

Sets the object's width and height in both patching and presentation modes (if the object belongs to its patcher's presentation), leaving its position unchanged.

textcolor [4 floats]

Messages

int

An int message will set a constant value for a single channel in the output multichannel signal.

float

A float message will set a constant value for a single channel in the output multichannel signal.

list

A list message will set constant values for multiple channels. For instance, a list of three items will set constant values for three consecutive output channels starting at the output channel corresponding to the inlet receiving the list.

mute

Arguments

on/off-flag [int]
The message mute 1 mutes all output channels, mute 0 unmutes all output channels.

signal

You can send either a single-channel or a multi-channel signal to mc.combine~.
